Dinner Meeting – John Allcock: “Forty Things I Wish I’d Told My Kids”

The Optimist Club of Del Mar – Solana Beach welcomes keynote speaker John Allcock who will present “Forty Things I Wish I’d Told My Kids,” and a special informative presentation of SEA CHANGE PREPARATORY SCHOOL located in Del Mar at the monthly dinner meeting on Wednesday, October 17th.
John Allcock has been a student and teacher of mindfulness for over 15 years. He is a published author and a frequent lecturer on the topic, having been interviewed on over 50 radio and television stations across the country, including many here in San Diego. His book (published by Morgan James Publishing NY) has been described as follows: “In Forty Things I Wish I’d Told My Kids, John Allcock presents the essentials of mindfulness―not as something special and exotic, but as practical, down-to-Earth principles for living. He is the principal architect of the mindfulness program at Sea Change Preparatory, and has taught students for a number of years.
John graduated from Boston College (with highest honors in philosophy and political science) and Harvard Law School (cum laude). He is a practicing trial lawyer at DLA Piper, where he specializes in the trial of complex patent cases. He has chaired the U.S. Intellectual Property Group for the last decade and is Global Co-Chair of the firm’s 500 lawyer global practice. He also has served on the firm’s Executive Committee.
